This year is the 29th year I have been teaching at Dunkerton. I was born in Prairie
du Chien, Wisconsin and raised on a farm near Elkader, Iowa. I graduated from Central Community Schools in Elkader.
My B.A. is from the University of Northern Iowa, where I received a degree in elementary education and remedial reading.
Prior to coming to Dunkerton, I was a substitute teacher in Iowa Falls and taught remedial math in Waukon, Iowa. At Dunkerton,
I taught remedial reading and second grade prior to moving to first grade.
I have been married to husband, Jeff, for 31 years. We live in Cedar Falls with our two basset hounds, Molly and
Chloe. I have two daughters. Sara is 28 and works at Northwestern University Hospitals in Chicago as a project
coordinator in the brain research department. Kati is 24 and a dietician, serving three long term care facilities
in Chicago.
I enjoy gardening, craft projects, reading, traveling and shopping. My husband
and I are avid Hawkeye fans!
